Take a lesson from your dog or cat and stretch.
All of the muscles in our bodies are surrounded by a thin sheath of connective tissue called fascia, and when that tissue becomes tight or inflamed, we experience soreness. To eliminate discomfort, spend just 10 minutes reaching for the sky and bending toward your toes five days a week. Tip: Hold each stretch for at least 15 seconds. Because it takes time for tissues to release, the longer you hold a stretch, the more fascia is released–and the better you’ll feel!
